Improving COVID-19 Vaccine Confidence in Rural Populations
Currently, my work is focused on improving vaccine confidence in Appalachia. Research shows that the population most hesitant and likely to refuse the COVID-19 vaccine is rural, conservative, evangelicals. By providing culturally appropriate messaging and utilizing trusted messengers in the local community, vaccine confidence will be improved. We are in a race against time to see as much of the nation vaccinated as possible to turn this pandemic around and lessen the chances of more deadly variants forming.
